THE PROCESS

Challenge

The challenge was to create a brand rooted in the idea of immersing guests in the allure of Italian glamour while transporting them to the vibrant pulse of the 1960s inspired by Fellini’s iconic film La Dolce Vita.

Solution

I envisioned the hotel as an escape into the golden age of Italian cinema, where the visual charm of vintage Italy comes alive in every corner. This required a design that would not only radiate elegance but also embrace the playful eccentricities of the sixties. To reflect this, the color palette was carefully crafted—lush green to represent the vibrant, lively essence of the era, contrasted with deep black to evoke timeless sophistication and a sense of modern luxury. This contrast mirrors the interplay between the carefree exuberance of the 1960s and the eternal allure of high fashion and cinema.

The imagery and patterns of the brand drew inspiration from the bold, abstract designs that dominated the sixties’ visual culture. I explored dynamic shapes, bold lines, and vintage motifs to infuse a sense of motion and energy into the visual identity. These elements evoke the glamorous lifestyle of the era—where fashion, art, and cinema collided to create a bold aesthetic. Every graphic detail was designed to harken back to the retro allure of Italian film, creating a feeling that guests are stepping into a cinematic world of indulgence.
